Key takeaways
- Team use of Perplexity runs through an Enterprise Pro organization, with seats you invite from the Members screen.
- Perplexity says organization data is never used to train or fine-tune its models.
- Admins can turn connectors on or off for the whole organization under Organization settings.
- A person can belong to only one Enterprise organization at a time.
By the end of this guide your team will share one Perplexity Enterprise Pro organization. Members will be invited, the admin settings will be checked, and everyone will have three tasks to start with.
Before you start
Pick one admin to own the organization. This person invites members, sets permissions and manages billing. Have a list of corporate email addresses ready, and decide who needs Enterprise Pro and who, if anyone, needs Enterprise Max.
Perplexity’s help center says Enterprise Pro includes Perplexity Ask, Projects and connectors managed by your administrators. It also lists file uploads, user management, single sign-on and dedicated support. It supports combining Enterprise Pro and Enterprise Max seats in one organization.
| Plan | What it adds for a team | Price as listed |
|---|---|---|
| Enterprise Pro | Admin-managed Ask, Projects, connectors, SSO and Computer with a monthly credit allocation per seat | See the current price on the Enterprise page or ask sales |
| Enterprise Max | Everything above with more Computer usage and custom session retention options | See the current price on the Enterprise page or ask sales |
| Pro (individual) | Single-user plan, not an organization | $17 per month billed annually, per the individual pricing page |
Perplexity’s pages do not show a per-seat price or a minimum seat count for Enterprise Pro, so confirm both with Perplexity before you commit.
Create the account and workspace
Perplexity’s Enterprise page links to a Get started page for creating an organization and a Request a demo option. The help center does not list the sign-up steps, so follow the on-screen prompts there.
After the organization exists, open the Members screen in Organization settings. That is the starting point for everything below.
Invite your team
Perplexity documents these steps in its user management article.
- Open the Members screen in your Organization settings.
- In Invite new members, enter one or more email addresses separated by commas.
- Choose Enterprise Pro or Enterprise Max.
- Click the plus button.
If no seat is free in that tier, confirm the seats the invitation needs before it sends. Pending invitations hold a seat until they are accepted, canceled or declined. To resend one, use the three dots button next to the email.
To remove someone, use the three dots button next to the user and choose Remove. The seat opens at once for another member. To lower the seat count, an admin changes it in Billing, and it takes effect at the start of the next billing period.
Set the admin and data settings
Perplexity’s roles and permissions article names two built-in roles, Admin and Member. Member is the default for everyone. Custom roles are available on sales-assisted Enterprise plans. Review these areas.
- Roles & Permissions. Under Organization settings, check who can invite members, remove members and manage billing.
- Invite new users. Under Permissions, disable this if you do not want members to invite outsiders.
- Data and privacy. This area holds data retention, Enforce Incognito Mode, audit logs and public sharing. Consider turning off public session sharing and public page sharing.
- Computer limits. Roles can cap Computer effort and speed.
Perplexity states that your organization’s data is never used to train or fine-tune its models. It also says files attached to sessions are deleted after seven days, and that organizations with 50 or more seats can set custom session retention. For keeping personal emails out, the help center recommends SSO.
Connect your other apps
Admins manage connectors under Organization settings, then Connectors. They can enable or disable individual connectors for the whole organization and choose whether new connectors are on by default.
For Gmail and Google Calendar, each person connects their own account, per Perplexity’s connector article.
- Open Plugins in the sidebar, or use Customize, then Connectors.
- Find the Gmail and Google Calendar connector and select Connect.
- Log in to Google, grant the permissions and click Allow.
- Click Finish setup.
If a member cannot connect, an admin may have turned the connector off. Perplexity also has a Slack connector for Enterprise Pro users. Check its help article before you turn it on.
Tasks to try first
Research a supplier or competitor
Use this when you need sourced facts before a call. Run it in Ask.
Give me a one-page brief on [company name]. Cover what they sell, who they serve, how they price it and any recent news. Cite a source for every claim and flag anything you could not verify.
Compare two options for a purchase
Use this when you are choosing between software or vendors. Add the options and your needs.
Compare [option A] and [option B] for a team of [number] people. Use a table with price, key features, setup effort and cancellation terms. Link the vendor page for each row.
Prepare a meeting briefing from your own files
Use this when a client meeting is coming up. Upload the contract and past notes first.
Using the files I uploaded, write a briefing for tomorrow's meeting. Include what we agreed, open items, risks and five questions I should ask. Quote the file name for each point.

Frequently asked questions
Should I turn on the Perplexity invite link for my staff?
Perplexity's help center advises against a shareable Invite Link if you want to keep personal emails out. It suggests SSO, or inviting only corporate email addresses from the admin portal.
What happens when I invite someone who has a personal Perplexity Pro plan?
Perplexity says the personal Pro subscription changes to Enterprise. The person receives a credit for the rest of the billing period or can ask Perplexity for a refund.
Why does Perplexity say a user is already part of another organization?
A user can belong to only one Enterprise organization. They must leave or delete their current organization first, or you can contact Perplexity support with the user's consent.
